The proposed power
line is built on the railroad right-of-way would loom right over a very
beautiful part of my property that many people enjoy while watching and
playing polo. It would devalue my property in a huge way because it runs
for more than a mile along my property line. This property is my 401K so
to speak-my retirement! I am not planning on selling at any time in the
near future, and I would like to live here, but I would feel it is
unsafe tom live next to this power line, and if built next to my
property would want to sell immediately. If the power line is built
through my property, it would destroy all the work and millions of
dollars I have spent over the past 20 years improving my property and
building up a business here. It would destroy my business my going right
through all the polo fields and rendering them useless, and thus ruin my
ability to support the remaining part of the property. It would put me
out of business and ruin my farm of 343 acres, and worst of all destroy
my way of life and the property that I now allow many others to enjoy,
walking their dogs, playing paintball, playing and watching polo,
preventing me from holding the polo fundraisers (Elant made $80,000.00
here last year at a polo game), ending the Frisbee tournaments that I
host, the hunting, and ruin a beautiful view as depicted in the attached
photo. -Chuck Elmes, Owner

Our family is among
the thousands that would be negatively impacted by the proposal by New
York Regional Interconnect. The proposed power lines would be erected
roughly 150 to 200 feet from our home and reach above the woods seen in
the attached pictures. This is our backyard. Our home is one of six in a
cul-de-sac in a development of 85 homes. Our neighborhood is now a
beautiful place to live and raise a family. We, like many others, bought
our home because of its beautiful surroundings; trees, woods, green
grass and hills. High-voltage power lines have no place here.
As a mother of two young children, ages three and one, I am most concerned about the health problems associated with power lines, in particular, a link to childhood leukemia. There are eight children that live in our cul-de-sac. Six of them are under the age of 10. - JS Campbell Hall, NY |

| My family and I moved here recently for a better life. We worked hard over most of 2006 to build our home amidst the beautiful farms and local scenery. This was to have fulfilled a lifetime of dream for us and would be a beautiful place for us to raise our 5 year old daughter. That dream will be shattered if those high-voltage power lines are erected here. There are other solutions that can solve the energy transportation problem that don't involve destroying land and lives. If these power lines are erected, my future will no longer be here in a state that has failed me. - Chris DiBernardo (sayNO2NYRI.com WebMaster) & Kelly DiBernardo Town of Wallkill, NY |

We haven't even
closed on the property and they're talking about destroying it. I paid
for USEABLE space for horse pasture. Power lines take up space that I
paid for to run my business. The visual and health effects to my family
and my animals should be obvious. What an eyesore and God knows what
else. I can't imagine. The vibe that comes off of them the space, the
safety concerns. Please don't destroy what people have worked so hard to
have. Orange County in general has worked hard to maintain the country
look and feel. This will destroy it's mission and dedication to the
environment and it's tenants. - Jen Hanover / Tommy Pushkal, Owners of Maplewood Warmbloods LLC, Town of Wallkill, NY |
